Color!

We finally got the green light from one of our clients to have us showcase her house on here. We are working on new and exciting things here at George&Steward, so that's why no one has seen any new posts. Make sure you follow us on Pinterest to see more design that has the stamp of approval from us.
This picture is just a sneak peek of this beautiful house. Hope you all like it!

Have a Seat!

Here at George&Steward, we are trying to find new product everyday from known retailers, to online retailers that are just starting out. Here are a couple of beautiful examples from product online and in stores.
A transitional upholstered "X" legged stool, which has a jute-like texture and nailhead detailing. A lucite base stool with Mongolian lamb wool. A mid century, classic tapered legged, stool with a black and cream Aztec fabric. And last but certainly not the least, a fun contemporary, family oriented ottoman that would look great in any family room.

French Country

Anne's Perspective:
French Country!  Such a classic example of this country style, where there's so much warmth and comfort.  The space is lovely with the large expanse of windows plus the added texture of the brick floors.  I wish the room spacing was more interesting and colors could be more vibrant but it's charming and restful in its own right.  Accessories and lighting leave me a little disenchanted...oh, and how about a rug to soften the floor and get the "zone" more defined.  Geez...I really wish I could get in there and do some tweaking...

Dylan's Perspective:
The great thing about being a designer is the fact that if I don't like a room (like me with this one), I can still appreciate the work that has been done. I love the large and expansive windows with the floor to ceiling drapes to frame a view.  The couch seems very comfy; I want to jump in it. I would have loved to have seen a coffee table instead of the ottoman. Maybe putting the ottoman in front of one of the chairs would have been better. Great French Country Style Living Room.

Unconventional Office

Anne's Perspective:

First of all, I love it when a desk is positioned behind a sofa to multitask as both a sofa table and functional work surface.  This one is so cool because it combines so many different textures - the ornate legs, glossy white paint and a mirrored top  - very sophisticated.  The chair adds tons of pop because of the stripes and compliments the drapes beautifully!  Only problem, why so many art objects on the desk...needs editing, BIG time....
Dylan's Perspective:
This is great, not functional, but still great. I love that chair and the white and brown stripe fabric. I love the ornate legs on the desk. Keep this tip in your back pocket: Having something reflective or clear will lift the visual weight of your eye, keeping your room looking larger, needless to say it looks great, too! Having a lamp on your desk gives great task lighting to what ever you are working on. Oh, I love the hydrangeas.
