Our summer day turned rainy and cold, so we decided to go to the "beach" and design our coastal retreat. We went to one of our favorite online websites, PureHome.com. We started with our sitting area and chose our bones of the room first, which begin with our upholstered piece and worked our way down to our tables and accessories. We feel we have a good mix of patterns, textures, and a touch of whimsy!
The Country Style evokes so many different concepts, Coastal being one of the many. It has a feeling of casualness, laid-back warmth, with lots of textures and beach inspired accessories. For example, our rug has sailor inspired stripes, our lamp has a driftwood base, and even our accent table has a "knot" to tie in our ambience!
Next post we may move into the bedroom!
